PaulJeater

Paul Says:

We are the sixth richest country in the world yet our schools are underfunded, our health service is crumbling and we fail to build homes that are affordable to many who need them. Young people have been let down, students are saddled with huge debts and real jobs are being replaced by zero-hour contracts. We can and must do better. Extreme Brexit threatens our future. Whether it's a bad deal or no deal, the public should make the final decision, but when Brexit is done and dusted we will still have to deal with the greatest threat we are facing - Climate Change. Only the Green Party puts the threat to our planet at the centre of its policies. The Green Party offers an economy that works for the majority, not the privileged few, a Britain that's open to the world and protects our precious environment.

On June 8th Vote for the Real Alternative - Vote Green.

The Green Party candidate for the 2017 General Election, in Chelmsford Constituency, is Dr Reza Hossain

 RezaHossain

Reza says:

I have worked for the NHS for the past 15 years in Chelmsford.

I have been previously the ship medic on board the Greenpeace ice-breaking ship, the "Arctic Sunrise", on a project in the South Atlantic (in 2004). . I was also the rainforest camp doctor for a Greenpeace project (in 2006) that was located in the Paradise forests of South East Asia. This project helped the local communities who lived in the forests to develop - but in a way which maintained the beauty and biodiversity of the forests. My experiences abroad have given me a sharp, first-hand insight into the fragile nature of the planet.

We are the sixth richest country, yet our Health and Social Care systems are crumbling. The NHS is lurching from crisis to crisis, for both patients and overworked NHS staff.

Our schools and police are underfunded, students have massive debts. We have to fund all our public services properly, to invest in young people, and to do better for all the citizens of our country.

Once the final terms of the Brexit deal have been negotiated, the Green Party will offer voters a second referendum on the Brexit deal - with the option to remain in the EU too.

And we still have to deal with the biggest threats to the planet which are loss of biodiversity and climate change and population growth. If the UK invests in green energy technology now, then these are technologies that we can innovate and be world leaders in for the next few decades. The Green Party will offer an economy that works for everyone, and protects our precious environment. On June 8th Vote for the Real Alternative - Vote Green.

The Green Party candidate for the 2017 General Election, in Maldon Constituency, is Steve Betteridge

Steve says:

We have a duty to equip our children with the education they will need to build a better world than the one we are leaving them. We need to ensure that the planet they inherit has clean air and rivers and green spaces. Only the Green Party puts our planet at the centre of its policies.

Our NHS must be protected. We must build homes that are affordable and bring empty homes back into use before we build on green spaces.

Our schools must have proper funding. Young people need meaningful work. Students are saddled with huge debts to start their working lives with.

An Extreme Brexit threatens our health, environment, animal welfare and workers’ rights.  We want to give people back control and allow them to have the final say over whether to accept any Brexit deal.
