Brentwood & Chelmsford Green Party covers the area of four Parliamentary Constituencies:
- all of Chelmsford
- part of Maldon
- part of Brentwood & Ongar
- part of Saffron Walden
We campaign on local, national and international issues and look to stand candidates in local and general elections.
The Brentwood & Chelmsford Green Party has regular meetings for local members and Green Party supporters, taking place in various venues across our area.
During the past couple of years these had to be held via Zoom - with members emailed the link in advance, along with the agenda, and details of any special speakers.
We have returned again to in-person meetings - set up as hybrid events, with Zoom access for those that prefer - at venues across the Brentwood and Chelmsford area.
We're also resuming our regular Green Drinks social gatherings at various pub locations throughout the year. Please check out our official Facebook page for up to date details.
For more information on local Green Party meetings, or if you'd like to come along and join us, please email us on contact@chelmsford.greenparty.org.uk, or telephone on 07889 232042 (Paul).
Our current Committee members are:
Julian Goode - Coordinator; and Communications
Paul Jeater - Treasurer; and Election Agent (Brentwood)
Position vacant - Election Agent (Chelmsford)
David Hale - Secretary
Emma Randall - Membership; and Animal Rights
As a member, you can be as active as you like - from armchair and online support, to standing as a candidate for election. For more information, please contact as above.
Even if you don't want to make the commitment of joining us, we always welcome supporters and volunteers. Volunteers can help with our campaigning work. Could you help deliver leaflets to your street, or go out with our campaign team and speak to local residents about their concerns?
Do you have fundraising experience, or graphic design, media, research and administrative skills? Whatever your level of experience and however much or little time you can give, we would love to hear from you!
The Green Party has had success electing Green councillors to Essex County Council, as well as standing in Chelmsford City Council, Brentwood Borough Council and Parish Council level elections.
We need lots of candidates to stand in as many divisions and wards as possible in our local elections, to give as many people as possible the chance to vote Green.
Candidates must be members of the Green Party and support its main aims and policies.
